Experience

Chris Fowler is a Shareholder in the Real Estate and Business practice groups and focuses his practice on helping individuals and closely-held companies achieve their goals and protect their business interests. He is licensed to practice law in Oregon.

His practice is focused on real estate, and Chris regularly advises clients on both litigation and transactional matters. He also regularly advises clients in the areas of: business, finance, commercial law, construction, regulatory compliance, banking, and litigation.

Prior to joining Buckley Law, Chris most recently served as General Counsel at ScanlanKemperBard Companies, a commercial real estate development firm with development projects located throughout the Western United States. He previously served as Senior Counsel at Umpqua Bank and Seterus Inc., an IBM subsidiary, where he handled mortgage and commercial compliance, employment investigations, cybercrime investigations and defense, government and regulatory investigations, and commercial litigation.

Chris has handled breach of contract, adverse possession, fraud, FCRA, TCPA, FDCPA, TILA, and RESPA claims, among others, and has appeared in Oregon state and appellate courts, and federal district and bankruptcy courts.

Born and raised in Texas and Tennessee, Chris has an LL.M. from St. John’s University, a J.D. from University of Tennessee College of Law, and a Bachelor’s in Philosophy from The University of Texas. He has practiced law in the Portland area for more than 20 years, and he and his family now live in Lake Oswego.
