Experience

Molly Becker practices litigation, including contested guardianship and conservatorship proceedings (for minors and adults), and probate, trust, and elder abuse matters. She is honored to advocate for those who are most vulnerable and their families.

Molly specializes in representing clients involved with Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS), from the start of a Child Protective Services assessment through the Founded review process. Having Child Welfare involvement in your family’s life is stressful enough, so it is critical to have representation by someone with a unique and first-hand understanding of the complex rules and procedures at play, who has a proven track record of success. She also represents parents, guardians, and resource parents in dependency proceedings, as well as clients involved in Adult Protective Services investigations.

Molly earned her B.A. in Psychology from Portland State University in 2011 and began her nearly seven-year career in social work for the Oregon Department of Human Services, Child Welfare. She worked in Portland as a Child Protective Services (CPS) caseworker, in which she investigated reports of child abuse and neglect, and was on the front lines of protecting vulnerable children in our local communities.

Inspired by the extensive time she spent in court as a CPS worker, Molly attended Lewis & Clark Law School, where she was awarded Best Oral Advocate and Best Trial Team; an Associate Editor for Environmental Law Review; and worked at the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, the Portland City Attorney’s Office, and the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. She graduated with her J.D. in January 2021 and shortly thereafter joined Katelyn Skinner’s team at Buckley Law. Molly now leads the firm’s probate litigation team, manages an additional caseload of Founded reviews, and consults on family and criminal law matters involving DHS.

Molly Becker is an ardent advocate who is passionate about her clients – passionate about protecting their rights, helping them hold wrongdoers accountable, and providing every individual with curated and diligent counsel.
