Layla Kailani McLean Recognized as 2025 40 Under 40 Honoree by the Portland Business Journal

Lake Oswego, OR – Buckley Law P.C. is pleased to announce that attorney and shareholder Layla Kailani McLean has been named to the “40 Under 40” list by the Portland Business Journal (PBJ) for 2025.

Layla has been with Buckley Law since 2017 and was elected a Shareholder in January 2021 and Equity Shareholder in January 2025. She is head of the Estate Planning Group and focuses on estate planning and administration for taxable and non-taxable estates, business succession planning, gift tax planning, charitable planning, special needs planning, guardianships, conservatorships, business law, and real estate transactions.

Layla dedicates a lot of her time to educating and advocating for Oregon’s youth. She is a huge supporter of Mount Hood Kiwanis Camp, personally, and as a member of the Board of Directors. Recently she has served on the Board of Directors for Civics Learning Project. Civics Learning Project is Oregon’s leader in preparing students to become active, engaged, and informed participants in our democratic society. She is also a mentor to incoming first year law students at Willamette Law, and is involved in the AVID and Imprint Programs, both of which focus on mentoring high school students from disadvantaged schools and low income and minority households.

Layla is a member of the Oregon State Bar Association, Oregon Women Lawyers, Oregon Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and Academy of Special Needs Planners. She received her Juris Doctorate from Willamette University College of Law and her B.S. from Portland State University.
