Lake Oswego, OR – Buckley Law P.C. is pleased to announce that attorney and shareholder Katelyn Skinner has been named to the “40 Under 40” list by the Portland Business Journal (PBJ) for 2026.
Katelyn has been with Buckley Law since 2017, was elected a Shareholder in 2019, and an Equity Shareholder in 2023. She is one of the leaders of the Family Law Group at Buckley Law focusing her practice on complex family law matters including divorce, custody disputes, modification issues, international disputes, and restraining and protective orders.
Katelyn also represents clients in matters involving civil child abduction, child kidnapping, international and interstate child custody disputes, and the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. She is licensed in Oregon state and federal courts, the Supreme Court of the United States, and frequently collaborates with colleagues in other states and countries on interstate and international cases. She has been admitted pro hac vice in U.S. District Courts in the states of Washington, Florida, Idaho, Maine, and Virginia on matters involving international child abductions.
She was the first Oregon fellow in the International Academy of Family Lawyers. Katelyn was appointed by the Oregon Supreme Court to serve as a pro tempore (“pro tem”) judge for the Washington County Circuit Court. Her three-year term started in April 2025.
Katelyn speaks fluent Japanese and is a member of the Japan-America Society of Oregon. Katelyn is a member of the Oregon State Bar Association, Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, and Hague Convention Attorney Network. She received her Juris Doctorate from Willamette University College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Oregon.
