Bob Horvat is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, and the University of Oregon School of Law, where he was Articles Editor of the Oregon Law Review. Bob also studied German Legal Studies at Ruprecht-Karls-Universitaet in Heidelberg, Germany. Bob is admitted to practice in both Oregon and Washington, and is a member of the American, Oregon, and Washington Bar Associations.
His experience, which includes 12 years as an associate and partner at one of the largest law firms in the country, spans more than 24 years in the transactional real estate and business sectors. Bob’s real estate expertise includes multi-million dollar commercial and residential transactions involving apartments, condominiums, industrial properties, hotels, marinas, offices, residential subdivisions, retail properties, restaurants, mixed-use properties, and raw land. Bob’s business transactions have involved the formation, purchase, operation, sale, merger, conversion and liquidation of businesses, including limited liability companies, corporations, general partnerships, and limited partnerships. Bob also has extensive knowledge of financing transactions and has been the lead counsel for national and regional lenders and borrowers in real property and asset secured financing transactions.
In addition to having an active practice, Bob has written and lectured on a number of topics dealing with his areas of expertise. Bob is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Bob is also a member of the Tigard Chamber of Commerce.
Bob is married and has one daughter. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, traveling, and attending University of Oregon football games.
