Michelle Lentzner’s practice focuses on business, employment law, and intellectual property litigation and counseling. Prior to joining Buckley Law in 2005, she litigated business disputes, intellectual property matters, and employment law claims for large and small businesses in Silicon Valley.

Licensed in Oregon, Washington and California, Michelle has represented clients in both state and federal court and before governmental agencies. She also advises clients regarding appropriate employment practices and protection of company assets, such as trade secrets and trademarks. Michelle has presented seminars on the Family and Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards, employment handbooks and legislative changes. Michelle also trains managers how to follow employment laws and regulations.

Michelle is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Hastings College of the Law. She lives in Lake Oswego with her husband (who also is an attorney) and their two children, and enjoys volunteering at her children’s school, traveling, theater, and running with their dog.

Primary Areas of Practice

  • Employment Law (primarily representing employers) – Employee hiring and management relations, employee handbooks and company policies, wage and hour issues, compliance with federal and state leave laws, anti-discrimination laws, sexual harassment, injured worker rights, whistleblower and retaliation claims, drug testing and privacy rights, employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, work for hire, wrongful discharge claims, theft of trade secrets, and independent contractor determinations and agreements.
  • Intellectual Property – Trademarks, copyrights, infringement, protection of trade secrets, privacy rights and rights of publicity, licensing, assignments, confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements, work for hire agreements.
  • Business Litigation – Litigation of employment law claims, trademarks, trade secrets and other intellectual property issues, and business litigation involving LLCs, close corporations, shareholder derivative suits, secured creditors, corporate squeeze outs, breach of fiduciary duties, breach of contract, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, class actions, mediations, arbitrations, TROs and preliminary injunctions.
