Lawrence Evans is a Shareholder of Buckley Law, and his practice focuses on meeting the wide range of needs of small to medium sized businesses, particularly in the areas of business and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial real estate. Larry received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon and his Juris Doctorate from Lewis and Clark Law School. He is a member of the Oregon State Bar, the Multnomah Bar Association, and the National Association of Dealer Counsel (the leading organization for attorneys who specialize in representing auto dealers). Larry is the past Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Business Law Section of the Oregon State Bar and has served on the Executive Committee of the Business Law Section, the Disciplinary Rules and Procedures Committee, the Ethics Committee and the Executive Committee of the Computer Law Section of the Oregon State Bar.
Larry’s practice is now entirely devoted to transactional work after practicing both trial and transactional law for the first fifteen years of his career, giving his clients the advantage of an enhanced ability to draft clear, precise documents, foresee and avoid potential liability areas, and provide practical dispute resolution advice. Larry’s business work includes representing both business buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions, negotiating and drafting documents related to strategic alliances and corporate partnering, drafting and negotiating various contracts and forming corporations, limited liability companies and non-profit organizations. In his commercial real estate practice Larry represents buyers, sellers, lessors and lessees.
Although he does not limit his practice to any specific industries, Larry has developed a specialized client base in representing automobile dealers, both regional and national auto dealers, particularly in mergers and acquisitions and real property transactions. He also represents a broad spectrum of most types of businesses, including advertising agencies, manufacturing companies, distributors, retailers, sales organizations, developers and builders, other various service industries, whether low or high tech businesses. He has also formed, obtained tax exempt status for and represents many non-profit organizations with a particular emphasis on churches and para-church ministries. Additionally, Larry has substantial experience in computer and technology law, negotiating and drafting software licenses and software maintenance, distribution, OEM, development, nondisclosure, and joint marketing agreements. Larry is one of the founding shareholders, director and outside counsel of EventBuilder.com, a strategic partner of Microsoft ® in the field of the management and maximization of large web events and training.
Larry is a present or past board member and active participant in several nonprofit corporations serving our community, including Pacific Northwest Billy Graham Crusade, Portland Business Luncheons, West Hills Christian School, Compassion Ministries and Northwest Christian Community Foundation.
